Re: Dyche Sacked!
I think Dyche is a decent manager at the right cub. We wanted him here at one time. He'll go somewhere and do a fine job. Burnley will probably be relegated now.

Who better out there? Seems a bit short sighted to me.

Re: Dyche Sacked!
I told my mate who's a massive Burnley fan that the change in ownership could spell trouble. Lot's of these owners think they are going to turn the likes of Burnley into the Barcelona of the North West. It will be like the Venky's at Blackburn and the end of Burnley's premiership days. Dyche's family live in the Watford area but I can't see him going back there with their dysfunctional ownership.

Spot on.

Give the manager the lowest budget in the league over the last 10 years and expect him to “shit a miracle” every season.

Makes no sense and in fact is arguably a bigger risk than keeping him so , as others say , must be something else gone on ?

Re: Dyche Sacked!
Maybe Burnley's new owners were confused by the club colours?

They saw a Claret & Blue team riding high in the PL and getting into the Europa Semis and assumed it was the one they'd bought earlier.

Someone (Dyche) pointed out that this wasn't actually the case and the owners then went ballistic.

Re: Dyche Sacked!
Burnley has a population of just 89,000 and for Dyche to have kept such a small town club in the PL for 7 out of the last 8 years is just remarkable.

Instead of sacking him they should erect a statue.

Burnley will now go into a decline and probably end up in EFL 1.

The owners are cretins.

Bizarre decision and mad timing. Unless they've got a really good manager lined up in the wings, which I doubt.

I'm being optimistic here.
Beating Everton was more crucial for them than losing to Norwich. It kept Everton in the mix. Ironically losing to Norwich could have worked in their favour. Norwich still in the mix.

Further more they need to get someone in now. The team knows how Dyche worked, his motivation skills kept them up.
Not sure how the players will react tbh. If they don't know who they are playing for then that's a bonus.
For us I can't see us staying in the top 6.
We have to beat Burnley and win 3 others but our fixture list is horrendous with our injuries and squad.

Re: Dyche Sacked!
The Dyche/Burnley partnership was bound to end eventually. I would defy any of the present PL crop of managers to do a better job than Dyche has done for low budget Burnley over the years.

Dyche can hold up his head with pride and in no way can he be seen as having failed.

Surprising decision
Would have thought he was the most likely to keep them up and if not to bring them back as he did before.
Can see why they think losing to Norwich was a line in the sand but think you can now draw a line through the current bottom 3 as DONE.
There are a few there that will find new Premier league clubs ... Pope, Cornet, Tarkowski , Dwight McNeil.
And maybe Ben Mee as a Dawson type back up somewhere.

Re: Dyche Sacked!
Something must have happened behind the scenes. Bust up with the owners or players. You don’t sack a manager who has been there as long as him now with no solid plan to immediately replace him lined up.

Re: Dyche Sacked!
Guarantee that Tarkowski and the other mainstays of the team will be off this summer! Moyes likes Tarkowski apparently, was looking at him on a free I think

Re: Dyche Sacked!
Yet another casualty of "The Answer's West Ham" game. A team have just sacked their manager, who are they playing next..?

Re: Dyche Sacked!
Ridiculous decision. He’s done great there - they’ve just struggled to win this season and have drawn too many. They sold their best striker too.

Idiotic imo

Re: Dyche Sacked!
You can't expect a town of that size and a club which works to a very modest budget to achieve much more than they are currently.

Just to survive relegationis an achievement in itself. What do they expect from him? 3-4-3 playing swashbuckling tiki-taka?

Stupid Yank owners...or deluded venture capitalists is more accurate.

Tomshardware 1:03 Fri Apr 15
Re: Dyche Sacked!
Odd timing, he's worked miracles there to keep them up in the past.

Re: Dyche Sacked!
"Under-23s coach Mike Jackson, assisted by academy director Paul Jenkins, Under-23s goalkeeping coach Connor King and club captain Ben Mee have been asked to take charge of the team for Sunday's game with West Ham United.“

Ben Mee player/manager!

Odd timing, you’d think someone would be lined up to come straight in.
